Occupational Therapy Doctorate/PhD in Exercise Science
The dual degree of occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in exercise science is designed to meet the growing need for occupational therapy faculty members who are prepared to conduct and mentor research. The graduates of the dual degree program will not only have the credentials but also the skills needed for successful careers in academia.
Admission to the OTD/Ph.D. is a two-step process. The first step is admission to the OTD program. See the occupational therapy doctorate section for admission requirements. In the second semester of the OTD program, the student applies for admission to the Ph.D. in exercise science. If selected for admission, the student will be officially admitted to the Ph.D. program in exercise science at the beginning of the second year in the OTD program. Students may apply up to 18 credits of their OTD program for credit in the Ph.D. program. Please contact the occupational therapy program at email@example.com or the program director for graduate exercise science program for more information on the dual degree.
