The Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) Graduate Certificate is offered to individuals who have completed a master’s degree in nursing or doctorate in nursing practice, with a minimum one year of full time, current work experience in acute care and/or critical care, who desire to obtain specialized knowledge to seek certification as an AGACNP. AGACNP graduates are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification or American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) certification. The curriculum is 21 semester credits, three-semesters with a part-time option. 

On admission, a gap analysis of transcripts and course syllabi for equivalency of content in advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning. A grade of B or better is required for the equivalent courses. Students who have not completed courses with the content will be admitted and required to complete them prior to beginning the clinically focused courses.
