  • PLO 1: State the basic nature of most of the various subfields in human geography (e.g., cultural, economic, environmental, political, social, urban, etc.);\\n
  • PLO 2: Appraise the major aspects of two of those subfields including an ability to read and understand basic research in the subfield;\\n
  • PLO 3: Describe the basic nature of most of the subfields of physical geography (biogeography, climatology, geomorphology, hydrology, meteorology, etc.) and if emphasizing physical geography discuss one of those subfields in more depth;\\n
  • PLO 4: State the dominant forces that have shaped and continue to shape two major world regions;\\n
  • PLO 5: Apply the basic tools of geographic analysis (quantitative and qualitative) to investigate a geographic issue;\\n
  • PLO 6: Construct a map using appropriate cartographic design, visualization and quantitative data manipulation;\\n
  • PLO 7: Identify the fundamental concepts of Geographic Information Systems, and evaluate their importance in the further study of this evolving science;\\n
  • PLO 8: Integrate information from a range of academic disciplines, and support the importance of holistic approaches to problem solving;\\n
  • PLO 9: Weigh the importance of human/environment relationships a traditional focus of geography;\\n
  • PLO 10: Develop appropriate written and oral skills necessary for graduate study or a professional career, including the ability to present oneself in a professional manner;\\n
  • PLO 11: Understand the importance of geographic inquiry and problem solving in a rapidly globalizing world, and construct an argument to explain that importance to those who are ignorant of it.
