  • Subject Expertise: Students will be able to define and explain ethical issues associated with the development and application of data science methods in technology and contemporary society.
  • Critical Engagement: Students will analyze and evaluate positions and arguments with respect to the ethical employment of data science methods in the spheres of personal ethics, public policy, privacy and society.
  • Analysis and Expression: Students will be able to develop, articulate and argue for their own positions regarding the ethical use of data science and analytics in contemporary and future applications. Student will be able to express and explain their reasoning according to the standards of philosophical discourse.
  • Application: Students will be able to extend their use of moral and ethical reasoning to novel areas of inquiry for which philosophical methods offer the opportunity for input and discussion.
