  • The culminating learning outcome is certificate completers will be able to: implement age and culturally appropriate curriculum within the child and/or youth program.
  • 1) Apply critical thinking skills towards evaluating Child Development Center and Youth Services personnel requirements and abilities.
  • 2) Integrate knowledge of early childhood and/or youth development theories, principles, and concepts into programming for children and youth.
  • 3) Explore and interpret the broader impact that Child Development Center and Youth Services programs and services have on military community populations.
  • 4) Design and implement a professional plan that will result in personal and social growth.
  • 5) Develop global competence though through cross cultural opportunities and experiences.
  • 6) Evaluate differences and similarities between student’s background and host location’s cultural and social contexts, and an understanding of the various elements and facets of the sponsoring organization’s culture and that of the host location.
