The use of EEES 4910, EEES 4980, EEES 4990 must be approved by the student’s advisor.

  • PLO 1. Students will be able to explain the theory of plate tectonics and the concept of deep time.
  • PLO 2. Students will be able to describe and characterize the layered structure of the earth.
  • PLO 3. Students will be able to explain various short-and long-term geologic processes to a general audience.
  • PLO 4. Students will be able to recognize that geologic processes are controlled by the complex interactions of the four major earth systems: geosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere.
  • PLO 5. Students will be able to analyze geology and topographic maps or other images to interpret the processes and interactions among the primary Earth systems that produce features on the Earth surface.
  • PLO 6. Students will be able to evaluate environmental issues in the context of geological principles, and to design practical potential solutions.
  • PLO 7. Students will be able to apply scientific reasoning to a variety of geological topics.
