- 1. Perform routine and complex analytical testing on microorganisms recovered from body fluids or tissue.
- 2. Perform and interpret gram stains on clinical smears.
- 3. Analyze antibiotic sensitivities with appropriate cultures and organisms.
- 4. Identify parasitic organisms from body fluids.
- 5. Correlate data obtained from molecular diagnostic testing with infectious disease processes.
- 6. Evaluate and interpret quality of data to eliminate any pre-analytical, analytical, or post-analytical error.
