AR 1000 First Year Orientation

[1 credit hour]

Course will introduce new students to the university and college, provide information on requirements, regulations, campus resources and career exploration and help students develop academic skills. It is required of all new students.

AR 1010 Liberal Arts Lab

[1 credit hour]

Experienced-based learning course where students explore ideas and concepts through hands-on practice and engaged activities.

AR 1120 Liberal Arts Careers

[2 credit hours]

This class is designed to engage students in discovering their career values and occupational interests, skills, personality style, and behavior and work environment preferences. Students will learn to identify how different disciplines in Arts and Letters contribute to solving various issues and come to recognize ways in which their own talents and interests can be employed in professional and occupational settings. Additionally, students will learn about decision-making, goal-setting, action planning, and resumes.

AR 4000 General Studies Capstone

[1 credit hour]

This course provides the opportunity to integrate and reflect on knowledge and experiences gained during completion of the general studies degree with an eye towards post-graduation endeavors such as employment. Topics include how to construct a portfolio and write cover letters, resumes, and prepare for the job market.
